"Australian Wildfires" accepted in the 114th California Art Club Annual Gold Medal Exhibition
I am very pleased to announce that my 24" x 30" oil painting "Australian Wildfires" has been accepted in the prestigious 114th California Art Club Annual Gold Medal Exhibition at the VEFA Gallery (Visual Experience Fine Art) in Torrance, California.
The scene in this dramatic and emotional painting catches only a fraction of the horrors that the animal wildlife of Australia suffered during the massive wildfires in the winter of 2019/2020, in which over 1 billion animals throughout the continent of Australia perished and some species, native of Australia, went extinct.
Scientific studies show that the Earth's climate has warmed an unprecedented 2.4 degrees since the first "Earth Day 55 years ago on April 22, 1970...due to human and natural factors.
Will world governments and their leaders be willing to address these clear and present dangers now, before massive wildfires like this become the new normal globally...endangering more wildlife and humans alike.
Is humanity resigned to the same fate as countless generations of now extinct species, or will humanity be able to adapt and properly prepare to an ever evolving planet's climate?
The artist gallery reception, in which you can view my original painting "Australian Wildfires", as well as many other amazing artist paintings, will take place Sunday, June 8, 2025, 2pm - 6pm at the VEFA Gallery, 21825 Hawthorn Blvd. Torrance, California 90503 and the exhibition will run June 11 - August 9, 2025.
