This large mural (center view), which was the centerpiece for the main dinning room of Rossi's Italian Restaurant in Palm Springs, California, depicts a view of the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. The canal with it's historic buildings and cathedrals, is surrounded in an atmosphere of Trompleil painted flowing red curtains, drawn back by two life-size Venetian carnival jesters. Sadly, this mural may have been lost when the restaurant closed and new owners renovated the wall for their new decor. A false wall may have been placed over the mural in order to preserve it, as California law protects murals from destruction in public spaces.
